SMART WATER BUTTS

Smart Water Butts are practical economical measureable
Rain Water Management

Manage rain water sustainably with technology-enabled water water butts. Combining ultrasonic water level sensors and controllable valves with real-time analytics our smart water butts give you control over capacity and use of water individually or across networks.

Efficient, data-driven solution

The Smart Water Butt offers a practical, scalable, and data-driven way to manage rainwater sustainably. By combining simple design with smart technology, it helps create spaces that are more resilient, more efficient and better for the environment.

We are currently trialling these solutions with water companies and would be delighted to discuss how they could add value to your projects.

Intelligent water management

At the heart of the system is advanced sensor technology that tracks water levels in real time. This enables users to remotely monitor and control capacity – releasing water ahead of storm events to prevent localised flooding and optimise performance across wider catchments.

The ‘smart’ element comes from integrated telemetry, which allows the system to remotely emptied when needed, ensuring every rainfall is managed effectively. Through a connected dashboard app, users can view live data and manage their system via phone, tablet, or computer.

Connected and scalable

When used in conjunction with other BluWater Solutions products – such as rain gardens, SuDS planters, or green roofs – the Smart Water Butt becomes part of a self-contained, intelligent water management network. Linking these systems creates a sustainable cycle that stores, filters, and reuses rainwater where it’s needed most.
